Coventry is gearing up for an exciting few years – and this August it welcomed a new global business which has relocated to Cyan Park as part of a multi-million pound investment.
QED Environmental Systems, which acquired Midlands business Geotech in 2016, is a leading global supplier of environmental equipment for the industrial, environmental and renewable energy markets.
This summer, QED Environmental Systems relocated to Coventry from Leamington Spa. The 25,000 sq. ft. facility is a brand new investment and is now home to over 50 employees. It boasts a newly designed open plan office, kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment manufacturing and servicing equipment, including an ISO:17025 calibration laboratory to support the gas instrumentation business.
QED Environmental Systems supplies an array of internationally recognised environmental products within the biogas, landfill, groundwater and remediation sectors. Geotech, leading international gas analysis technology, is a strong, internationally recognised brand within this framework.
The relocation will support QED Environmental Systems as the business sees tremendous growth, and is expected to better support the company with its service to a global market place.
The new site will also serve as the international headquarters for QED Environmental Systems, delivering to Europe and a burgeoning Asian and Middle Eastern market.
Dean Kavanagh, Managing Director at QED, said: “Coventry has a rich heritage in manufacturing and engineering and I am confident this strategic move will help us tap into a talented workforce that can help support the brands rapid growth.
“This relocation marks a stepping stone in our drive to build a world class environmental technology business and I look forward to the fantastic opportunities it will bring to us in the near future.”
To ensure a seamless transition for both customers and distributors alike, the new premises is purpose-built to be an engineering facility to ensure the business maintains and excels all current manufacturing and calibration standards.
The company has alerted customers, distributors and its entire supplier network of the location change and has taken every step to ensure that products sent to the company for calibration are being redirected to the new facility.
Dean added: “Being centrally based, close to the motorway network and international airports, this new facility is in an ideal position for all our UK and international customers.”
