DID YOU KNOW?
Some electrolyte compounds can react to other gases than just their target. This is what we term as a ‘cross gas effect’, whereby the presence of another gas can either positively or negatively affect the mA output of the cell, providing an offset to the true measurement.
Electrochemical cells manufactured and supplied, industry wide, for NH3 can be affected by other gases. These NH3 sensors can be affected by other gases, such as CO2 and H2S. CO2 in high volumes can have a large negative effect upon your NH3 readings, while H2S has a small positive effect.
